Olive
ZIEGLER, OLIVE H. December 11, 1914 - March 13, 2008 Olive quietly passed into eternal peace in the comfort of her home with beloved family by her side on March 13, 2008; Olive was 93 years "young". She loved the promise of each new sunrise and the beauty of every sunset - she always lived each day to the fullest. Olive was born and raised in Ft. Dodge, Iowa where she met and married Furman "Gene" Ziegler in 1942. Together they built and owned Ziegler's Weld and Trim in Webster City. After moving to California in 1968, Olive became an accomplished artist and potter; she was awarded South Bay "Best Fine Artist" in 2002. Olive was a world traveler and loved the ocean; she will be remembered as a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and special friend who touched the hearts of all who knew her. Olive was a 39 year resident of Hermosa Beach and active member of the Manhattan Beach Community Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; brother, Maurice; and sister, Jennie. Olive is survived by her loving daughter, Linda; son-in-law, Gary; beloved granddaughters, Deborah and Kimberly; niece, Melinda; and nephews Roger, John, and Patrick. A "Celebration of Life" service will be held at the Manhattan Beach Community Church on Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at 1:00PM; interment will be with her husband's ashes at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
