Dodge Olafia G. Passed away on 3/14/2010 at the age of 94. She came to America from Iceland at the end of WWII as the war bride of Eugene L. Dodge, who preceded her in death in 2000. The love for her Icelandic culture was passed on to her children and grandchildren, as well as deep appreciation for the United States and the promise & opportunity it held for her and her family. She was a resident of the South Bay (Hawthorne and finally Hermosa Beach) for 60 years and was a member and past president of the Icelandic Club and Young Icelandic Woman's Club. Her greatest joy was her family starting with two daughters, Doris & Teresa in helping them in their musical endeavors and career playing the violin professionally with Jack Benny. Other family members who celebrate her life are daughters and sons in law, Doris& Greg Eberhardt Hermosa Beach, CA. Teresa & Don Atkinson-Springdale, AR. grandchildren; Loraine, Manny Eugene, Lisa, Amy, McKenna, Christian, Lauren, Kyndall and great-grandchildren, Lane and Malin. Services will be held at: Rice Mortuary 5310 Torrance Blvd March 17th 9:30 A.M. With graveside service to follow at Mt. View Cemetery 1315 Edgar Ave, Beaumont, CA. at 1:00 P.M.
