A 75 year resident of the South Bay passed away at home in Redondo Beach. Born in La Mesilla, New Mexico, Nina was 86 when she died. She went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 31. She was the last surviving sibling of 5 brothers and 2 sisters. She died after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's and a vascular disease. Nina was predeceased by husband Ralph and sons Eddie and Ralph Jr. Nina is survived by son Robert (Alice) Contreras, Linda "Contreras" (Antonio) Aguirre and Nina "Teri" (Thomas) Ishida, 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. She was a wonderful mother, known for her love of family, dancing and great cooking. Her passion was her love of Jesus Christ and her obedience to God. She will be greatly missed. Please come help celebrate her life. The service will be held at Rice mortuary Chapel on Friday, June 8, 2007. Visitation will be from 9am - 11am. Memorial service will be at 11:00am, interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Culver City. A reception will follow the interment at Rice's Lighthouse reception room from 2:30 - 5:00 pm.
