September 1, 1918 ~ April 2, 2005
Nasrollah Zand Shirazi, a long time resident of Rancho Palos Verdes, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 3, 2005 at the age of Ninety One. He is survived by his wife and soul mate of sixty-six years, Gohar as well as four children: Mimi Richner, Kambiz Shirazi, Diana & Javad Salar-Behzadi and Kouros Shirazi; four grand-children: Christopher Richner, Donald Richner, Nader Shirazi and Suzie & Stephen Lind as well and four great-grandchildren: C.J. Richner, Zachary Richner, Jason Lind and Silas Lind. He also leaves behind many friends and family members both state side and world wide.
Nasrollah was born in 1913 Shiraz, Iran and moved to Bombay, India at the age of two. He returned to Iran at the age of eighteen when he met his beautiful wife Gohar and began their long life together. He began a successful career with the British Petroleum Company at the age of eighteen and retired at the age of thirty five. Throughout the following years, Nasrollah moved his family to England, Ireland and the United States.
No matter where he traveled or made his home, Nasrollah and Gohar kept their doors open for all friends and family to come through. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grand-father and friend to many. His presence in this world will truly be missed and his absence will always be noted.
Funeral services will take place on Friday, April 8th at 1pm at Green Hills Memorial Park with the burial immediately following. In lieu of a reception, a donation will be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
