Born December 22, 1939 in Janesville, Wisconsin to Harold A. and Irene M. (Fritz) Sieber and moved to Madison in 1942. She worked in the Redondo Beach School District for 37 years, first as a teacher and then an acclaimed school administrator. She is survived by her husband, John (Ted) Spence; brother John Sieber and family; brother-in- law George T. Spence and family; brother-in- law Timothy F. Spence and family; and niece Pamela A. Lee. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations either to the American Cancer Society or the Lutheran Social Services. Viewing will be at Rice Mortuary on Monday January 7, 2013 at 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Church services will be at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church at 370 Junipero, Long Beach on Saturday January 12, 2013 at 11:00 am.

  3. Nancy was a beloved principal at Madison Elementary School in Redondo Beach. She was always an inspiration to her teachers and to the students. We are all so very sad at her passing but are so grateful that we were honored to know her and work with her. Rest in Peace.
