Nancy Anne "Daisy" Moore White June 28, 1950 - February 1, 2007 Daisy passed away on February 1, 2007 at home, surrounded by family and friends, after a year-long battle with cancer. Daisy was born Nancy Anne Moore in Pasadena, CA on June 28, 1950 to Ross Lynn and Nancy Lunday Moore. She was the oldest of 12 siblings. She lived the ideal 50s life as a member of a Coast Guard family moving to New London, CT, Bellevue, WA and San Francisco, CA She attended Star of the Sea Academy in San Francisco. After moving to St. Louis, MO, she graduated from Webster Groves (MO) High School. She enrolled in Merrimac Community College as an art major. The family moved back to Mill Valley, CA before settling in Redondo Beach, CA in 1971. Daisy continued her art studies at El Camino College and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Textile Design from California State University of Long Beach. Her passion was weaving. In the 70s she had her own business, The Village Yarnworks. She and her father built Riviera Management Inc. in Hermosa Beach where she serviced her cherished clients for many years. Daisy was an avid gardener, quilter, excellent cook, weaver, knitter, textile artist, cat lover and African art collector. She was a generous and loving mother to her three children; Catherine Anne "Cat" White, Aaron Vaughn White, and Alexis Elaine White. She is preceded in death by her father, Captain Ross L. Moore, USCG Retired and one nephew and is survived by her mother, Nancy L. Moore and 11 siblings - Mary Collier (Phil), Candace Moore (Tim Tomlinson), Ross L. Moore, Jr. (Mari Tokashiki), Timothy Moore, Sarah Moore (Karl Gibb), David Moore, Megan Moore (David Throop), Melissa Moore, Mathew Moore (Ming), Molly DeShazo (Thomas) and Brigid Ramirez (Julius), 20 nieces and nephews, one great niece, a large extended family, friends and her "adopted" children. Daisy will be remembered as a loving and caring person always ready to help. Her family loved her deeply and her passing has left emptiness in their lives. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2007 from 6 pm to 10pm at Rice Mortuary in Torrance. Her funeral mass will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2007 at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 320 Massey Street Hermosa Beach, CA 90254.

  1. So many thoughts but two really stand out. Our trip to Leadville soon after Cat was born when Daisy found room for us to bunk with them for the night. The other is when Daisy ran the bases backwards at the Little League game. How endearing is that! We loved her.
