Nitanda, Muneo, a 7 year resident of Torrance, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2008 in Torrance. Born in Los Angeles, CA . Relocated to Colorado during WWII and then to Chicago, IL. Muneo was 85 when he died. Muneo had served in the Army during the Korean War. Muneo was a member of Buddhist Temple of Chicago and spent the majority of his later years living in Chicago. He worked as an electrical technician for various companies in Chicago and enjoyed fishing at Montrose Harbour, bowling, and golf. Muneo loved walking around the city of Chicago in the Wrigleyville area and was a loyal Cubs fan. He is survived by his loving Wife, Martha Nitanda of Chicago, IL, Son, James (Laura) Nitanda of Chicago, IL, Son, Keith Nitanda of Chicago, IL, Sister Sachiko and Niece, Nancy of Garden Grove, CA. Preceded in death by Parents, Seitaro and Suma Nitanda and Sister Kiyoko Sera The memorial service will be held at Rice Mortuary Chapel on Friday, October 24, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. A reception will follow in Rice's Lighthouse Reception Room from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. Inurnment will be private.
