Morgan Edward Walker, 39, passed away on July 3, 2019 after a long and hard fought battle with cancer. Morgan was born on the 4th of July. He was never a fan of having to share his birthday with America, but the fireworks were a great perk. He came into this world with a big bang, but he left it as peacefully as anyone could, surrounded by the love and support of his family and friends. Morgan was with Capital Group for 14 years. He enjoyed his career as a systems analyst and application development manager and enjoyed working with a lot of great people. He had a brilliant mind, quick wit and a mischievous sense of humor. He never met a problem he couldn’t solve. Morgan was always the first person to lend a hand. He never missed an opportunity to help a friend in need. He was a true friend to all until the end. He had many loves. Playing hockey. Hot Rods. South Bay Punk Rock. Riding his Harley. Watching the Oakland Raiders disappoint every season. But most of all he loved being a father to a couple of awesome kids who were just starting to realize how cool their dad actually was. Morgan leaves behind his fiancée Chandra Atkinson; son Kieran; step-son Riley; father Michael Walker Sr.; brother Michael Walker Jr.; sister Evelyn Hooper; best friend Tony Smith; numerous family and friends and a pit bull named Penny — all of whom will miss him so much it hurts. Morgan’s family will hold a private service for him, followed by a local Celebration of Life memorial in a few weeks. The latter will be open to anyone who knew and loved him. The family would like to thank all of the exceptional nurses, doctors, and staff at City of Hope who took great care of Morgan over the past year. In lieu of flowers, his family asks that donations be made to Morgan’s Go Fund Me page in support of his young son, Kieran.
