Mohinder Kaur Bhachu
October 7, 1945 – January 22, 2013
Born in Nakodar (India), the eldest of 7 children, grew up with the love of art. As a child she also loved to enjoy time with her siblings, gossiping with her sisters, telling each other stories and jump roping. Along with her fun, she played the role of a mother, raising her youngest brother. As she became older, she took her love of art towards the direction of sewing clothes. At the age of 21, in 1967, she married Amrik Bhachu, a respected air force commander and a field hockey athlete. As the journey of her life continued, she gave birth to two lovely children, Indu and Gopi before moving to the United States in 1984. In 1985 she gave birth to her third handsome child Raju. She used her love of art and sewing to provide and support her family. With her family of five, she began to create new memories and instilling good values and morals in her children. As time went on she faced many battles of sickness, but never displayed any signs of weakness to her children. Although she faced many obstacles, she got the opportunity to see and enjoy time with her son in law Sandeep, daughter in law Ravneet, and the enjoyment of playing with her two wonderful grandchildren, Aahana and Jayden. As she now continues her journey in another place, she leaves behind wonderful memories, blessings and a new meaning of courage.
