Minnie Marie Bruemmer passed away peacefully on June 10, 2011 in El Segundo, California. Born on June 11, 1919 in Mason City, Nebraska where she grew up, she graduated Mason City High School in 1937. She later ventured to California with her three sisters where she met and then married Wilbert Bruemmer on June 16, 1946 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Pasadena. They eventually located to El Segundo, California in 1952 where they raised their family. Minnie was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She was also an artist who loved to paint landscapes; she was an avid reader and story teller and she was deeply involved in her church community. She volunteered much of her time at St. Anthony's parish and over the years was involved in the Catholic Woman's Council, the Altar Committee and Mission Circle to name just a few. She is survived by her four children, Cathy Duggan, Joel Bruemmer and his wife Annelies, Alan Bruemmer, Dena Taylor and her husband David, her twelve grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Wilbert Bruemmer and her sisters and brother. Minnie had a good and active life. She enjoyed many friends through the years and always loved a good celebration. She especially enjoyed dancing with her husband, taking care of her children and grandchildren and walking to daily mass. She will be deeply missed. In celebration of Minnie's life a rosary will be said at 7PM on Friday, June 17th at St. Anthony's Catholic Church followed on Saturday, June 18th with a Funeral Mass at 1PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to your favorite charity.
