In Loving Memory of Millicent Marie Ross-Clunis Millie, daughter of Edgar and Loretta McCormick was born March 12, 1945 in Seattle, Washington and raised in Yonkers, New York. Millie passed away November 6, 2014 in Torrance, California. of complications from ovarian cancer. Millie was preceded in death by Thomas Stephens. Before his passing they enjoyed a full and happy life in Manhattan Beach, California. Millie is survived by her brother Philip McCormick, cousins, relatives and many friends. Millie had a long career in textile design at Lorber Industries from 1984-2006. This was followed by a shorter work history at Chemtex. Her early adventures included sailing and sidecar competition Millie's interests included travel, photography, baking, earring design, theater and music of all kinds She was an enthusiastic fan of LSU football and a prolific reader. She loved all animals but had a passion for stray cats, her most recent being "Mr. Slippers" and her beloved "Max". Those who knew her well remember her thoughtful, generous and endearing disposition as well as her artistic capabilities in all things. She will be missed by many. A celebration of life will be held at Rice Mortuary on Friday November 21 from 7:00pm-9:pm. The service will be held in the Rice Mortuary Chapel on Saturday November 22 at 2:00pm. A reception follows in the Rice Reception Room until 5:00pm. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Bronx, NY. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the SPCA or OVCF (The Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation).
