Michael Anthony Botte, a resident of Marina Del Rey, Calif., died November 15 after a two-month battle with non-Hodgkins Lymphoma of the liver. He was 40. Raised in Babylon, NY and a graduate of North Babylon HS and the University of Maryland, Botte was the Vice President of Corporate Educational Partnerships for Discovery Communications. He is survived by his wife Jennifer, his 2-year-old daughter Sophia and an unborn son. He also is survived by his parents, Peter and Lucy Botte, his sister Danielle Orr and her husband Andy, and his brother Peter Botte. Jennifer's parents, Betty and Tom Curran, and her sister Kim Curran. Visitation will be held on Monday, Nov. 21, from 6-9 p.m. at White & Day Mortuary in Manhattan Beach, California. (3215 North Sepulveda Blvd. Manhattan Beach, CA, 90266). There will be a Beach Memorial service on Tuesday, Nov. 22, at 11 a.m., on the north side of the Manhattan Beach Pier, Manhattan Beach, California. We also will welcome family and friends at a reception immediately following the beach service. This will be held at The Neptunian Women's Club, 920 Highland Drive, Manhattan Beach, CA. A memorial service at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Babylon, New York will take place either the first or second Saturday in December, the date will be confirmed shortly. In lieu of flowers, Mike's Discovery family is setting up a 529 College Fund for his children. Details for this fund will be available shortly.
