Romero, Merced Sr. Age 64 passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, March 18, 2005. Born in Inglewood on September 24, 1940 to the late Felicitas J. and Salvador C. Romero. Merced was a resident of Lawndale for 53 years and a graduate of Leuzinger High School and proudly served six years (1958-1963)in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Chandler and with the Sea Bees. He worked for Major Paints in Torrance for 31 years and Mervyn's in Redondo Beach for the past 16 years. He is survived by his wife Lynn Romero of Lawndale, sons, Merced Jr., Carlos and James and daughter Anita Dawson and stepdaughter Sheri Bryan and seven grandchildren, Selena, Rebecca, Karissa, Jovanah, Julian, Rachel and Gabriel. Also survived by brothers Joaquin, Tony and sisters Manuela, Santa and Helen. Preceeded in death by first wife Rebecca. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, March 22, 2005 4PM until 8PM at McCormick Hawthorne Chapel. Graveside services will be Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at 1PM in Holy Cross Cemetery, Culver City, CA with reception to follow at the family's home.
