Mel and Helen spent many weekends on their boat sailing out of King Harbor while enjoying the company of their many friends in the Eagle Rock Kruising Klub. Mel also raced the "Ken-Tina Too" in many races, winning most.
When he wasn't spending time at the harbor, Mel enjoyed oil painting. A talented painter, he has paintings displayed in many homes throughout the country.
