Mele Na'ati Finau Strong and Faithful Mele Na'ati Finau was born on December 11, 1926 in Nakolo, Tongatapu, Tonga, and died on January 6th, 2014 at the age of 87 in Lennox, California. She was the third of thirteen children to Ma'ati Nau Funaki and Sione Po'uha. She married Sione Tonga Finau, on May 12, 1949 in Fo'ui, Tongatapu, Tonga. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and five sisters. She is survived by her husband, two brothers and two sisters, and all eight of her children. Akanesi Lupe O'Reilly and Michael of St George, Utah, Telakaki T. Finau and Ronald of Hemet, California, Ana Mafi Ika and Salesi of Hemet, California, Heilala T. Finau & Akanesi of Hemet, California, Paea Nasinu Niu & Vaka of Los Angeles, California, Kelepi Finau & Talafau of Lehi, Utah, Tevita H. Finau & Stephanie of Lehi, Utah and Sione Po'uha & Emily of Atlanta, Georgia. She is grandmother to forty-eight grand- children, and forty-nine great grand- children. Mele Na'ati Finau was a righteous and faithful woman. Her testimony of the gospel was evident by the way she lived. Her influence was far reaching. Her posterity strong because of her gospel centered life. A viewing will be held at the Westchester LDS Stake Center located at 7517 South Sepulveda Blvd, Los Angeles, California on Sunday, January 12th, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. with funeral services held Monday, January 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m at the Centinela LDS Chapel located at 4580 West 115 Street, Hawthorne, California. Interment at the Inglewood Park Cemetery, located at 720 E Florence Ave, Inglewood, CA.
