Mary Lou Sullivan, a lifelong resident of the South Bay, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2011. Born in El Paso, TX, Mary Lou was 79 when she died. Mary Lou is survived by daughter, Terri Burschinger of Redondo Beach, CA; son in law, Jim; grandsons, Steven and Andrew; sister, Margarita Ramirez; brother in law, Stefan Gogh; She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence Evans, her sister, Jessie Zubia, and her second husband Joseph Sullivan. Mary Lou grew up in Los Angeles and attended Bishop Conaty High School for Girls. While working, Mary Lou received her Bachelor's Degree in business from Pepperdine University. She worked in aerospace for TRW Systems in Redondo Beach for 30 years. Mary Lou had a passion for education, traveling, golf, and lived part time in Indian Wells upon retirement. During her time with us, Mary Lou loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandsons. A gathering of family and friends will be held at White and Day Colonial Mortuary on Thursday, October 13, 2011 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm with Rosary recital at 7:00 pm. The Mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Friday, October 14, 2011 at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
