Feinstein, Mary Jane, a 67 year resident of the South Bay passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2011 in Torrance.
Born in Turtle Creek, PA, Mary was 86 when she died. She was a member of American Martyrs Catholic Church in Manhattan Beach, and retired from Hughes Aircraft after 32 years of service. In addition to being a loving mother and grandmother, she was a big Dodger fan.
Mary is survived by her sons, John and Chuck of Hawthorne, CA; Charlie (Tracy) of Long Beach, CA; daughter, Charlotte (Kevin) Vezina of Hawthorne, CA; sisters and brothers, Margaret (Jim) Dufalla; John (Josephine) Simmons; Charlotte Zukoski; Joe (Dolores) Simmons all of Indiana; and 6 grandchildren: Jennifer Feinstein, Jonathan Feinstein, Lauren Feinstein, Macy Vezina, Holly Vezina, and Denis Vezina. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary Simmons; son, Jerry Feinstein; and husband of 18 years, Charles Feinstein.
The Memorial Service will be held at Rice Mortuary in Torrance on Sunday August 21, 2011 at 1pm. Burial will be private at Pacific Crest Cemetery in Redondo Beach. Please use this website to send the family messages, share memories, or to obtain directions to the services.

Perhaps they are not stars in the sky, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of your mother pours through and shines down to let us know she is with us. The brightest star must be Mary. She was always full of laughter and fun. I have such great memories of her and her laugh and quick wit comments. I’ll miss her. Our prayers and thoughts are with you. Aunt Mary was such a wonderful person. When I moved out to California she took me under her wing. I will always be thankful for that.

Mary became such an important part of my life and practically raised me along with my parents too. I am forever grateful for her being my mom’s best friend for 40 years. She has been through a lot with our family as we have been with yours, both happy and sad. She will be truly missed. Love you Mary.

How do you put in words about someone who loved you without any limits…she gave me the world and always supported me in everything I did. She taught me everything I know and made me the woman and mother that I am. She will always be with me and live though me and my children. I thank God everday for every minute I had with her.
