Gonzales, Mary V., a 55 year resident of the South Bay, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2007 in Torrance. Born in Taos, New Mexico, Mary was 86 when she went to her Glory. Mary was a member of St. Anthony de Padua Parish Church. Mary's greatest passion was the care and love for her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She was loved by everyone who knew her. In her last days, she was dubbed "Queen Mary" by patients and medical staff who met her.
She is survived by Daughter, Rosemary Wimmer of San Pedro, CA; Son, John Gonzales of Albuquerque, NM; Daughter, Christine Abeyta of Torrance, CA; Daughter, Dareyl Ann (Jim) Decker of Taos, NM; Son, Michael James (Carmen) Gonzales of Vancouver, WA; Brother, Arthur Vigil of Chamblee, GA; 5 Grandchildren, and 1 Great Grandchild. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Rosendo Gonzales; Father, Alfonso Vigil; and Mother, Faustina Vigil. The Vigil with family & friends will be held at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church on Friday February 16, 2007 from 6:30 to 8pm. The Rosary will begin at 7:15pm. Mass will be held on Saturday February 17 at noon. Burial will take place at Riverside National Cemetery on Wednesday at 9:30AM.
