Murgolo, Mary Elvira a 34 year resident of Palos Verdes Peninsula, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2006 in Torrance. Born in Pittston, PA, Mary was 82. Mary was a member of St. John Fisher Church. In the 40's she worked for Reader's Digest and AT&T. In the 50's she worked at the Broadway and Penney's as a buyer. In the 60's and 70's she was a Girl Scout Leader and an office volunteer at Visitation School. Mary loved her family, music and loved to sing. She took care of cats, dogs and birds and was very religious. She loved art, cooking, her church groups, her family and was a fan of Gregory Peck. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Vito Murgolo of Palos Verdes Peninsula; daughter, Jeanette (Gary) O'Leary of Palos Verdes Peninsula; grandson, Sean O'Leary; nephew, Leonard (Elaine) Re of Fountain Valley and niece, Kathy (Joe) Scime of Williamsville, NY. Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Elvira Bianco, father, Nicholas Bianco and sister Marguerite Re. A Rosary will be held at McCormick Redondo Beach Chapel on Monday, September 11, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. The Mass will be held at St. John Fisher Church on Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, California.

  1. The memorial video is so touching. It’s March 2007 and I’m just seeing this video. I loved seeing pictures of Mrs. Murgolo as a young woman. I was her daughter’s friend across the street when we were kids. Mrs. Murgolo was one of the Moms on the block. I’ll never forget Mr. and Mrs. Murgolo. My deepest sympathies 6 months later and always. I remember how great she was and will always have that memory to celebrate. Peace. Talk to you soon, Jeanette!!
