Lovingly known as our Maureen and also knows as Mary Brady, Mary Munns and Mary Bennett, she passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Therese and Ed Martinez, on October 13, 2005. Maureen was born in Ballycotton, Co. Cork, Ireland in 1919. Her parents were Joseph and Margaret Walsh Custer. She immigrated to America along with her mother in 1921 to join her father who was a member of the U.S. Navy. They made their homes in San Diego and Huntington Park. She is preceded in death by her husbands Thomas A. Brady and Carl D. Munns and her sister Mona Doran. She is survived by her brothers Joseph and Herbert Custer, 5 children Charles Joseph Brady, Leo Anthony Brady, Margaret Anne Brady Summers, Therese Brady Martinez and Sondra Michelle Munns, 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She is also survived by nieces and nephews in Ireland, Canada, Houston, Chicago, Watsonville, Los Angeles and Spokane. Visitation and Rosary will be held Friday, October 21, 2005 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with the Rosary at 7:00 P.M. at White & Day Colonial Mortuary, 901 Torrance Blvd., Redondo Beach. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 440 Massey St., Hermosa Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Arthritis Foundation. The family is grateful to St. Joseph, all the many people that have been so supportive during Maureen's long illness, and to her loving and dedicated caregiver, Mrs. Armetta Austin.
