Mary-Anne
Evans, Mary-Anne Treene Mary-Anne Evans died May 19, 2005 after a courageous battle with cancer and rheumatoid arthritis. She was 72 years old. She leaves behind Cliff Evans, her loving husband of 51 years, her three children, Stuart, Leisa and Pam, their spouses, and eight grandchildren. Words cannot describe the loss they feel. Mary-Anne dedicated her life to caring for others, and her greatest happiness came from helping them . Even when faced with her own disabilities, her empathy and insightful comments helped many around her overcome their own difficult situations. Her wonderful smile, her sense of humor and her love of life touched all those around her, whether through a ready joke or a funny story. She also had a beautiful singing voice, and sang barbershop with The Treble Makers for 31 years. She made friends wherever she went, and she will be missed by so many. Mary-Anne fought rheumatoid arthritis for 43 years with amazing strength and grace. Her courage when facing adversity was always apparent to all those who knew her. There is no finer example than Mary-Anne Evans of what the human spirit can accomplish even in the face of terrible odds. Memorial services will be held a St. Francis Episcopal Church in Palos Verdes Estates, CA on Monday, May 23, 2005 at 5:00 PM. For those of you who would like to reward Mary-Anne's years of courage and remember her wonderful smile and sense of humor, we ask that flowers be omitted and instead, hopefully, save some other person's future grief with a donation to the Arthritis Foundation, located at P.O.Box 7669, Atlanta, GA 30357-0669.
