Mary Ann
Mary Ann O'Sullivan Surrounded by her husband and six children, quilted wings carried our beloved mom to heaven on November 1, 2004. Mary Ann was born in Chicago, December 12, 1928 and moved to California in 1946. Following her graduation from RUHS, she joined the Compostela Club, where she met Michael O'Sullivan. This led to a 53 year marriage. The family made their home in Redondo Beach where they raised their 6 children. Mary Ann loved to sew, knit, craft, garden, play cards and was a general contractor & architect at heart; a hammer or paintbrush always nearby. Over the years she was involved in SRLL, AYSO, St. James Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters and various other organizations. More recently she was a member of the South Bay Quilters Guild, Knitwits and Sunnbonnet Soups, where her handiwork was able to benefit those in need. Mary Ann will forever be in the hearts of her husband Michael and children: Charles O'Sullivan, Patty (Fred) Mintun , Mary Kay (Mike) Daley, Peggie (Jerry) Boyett, Jean Marzolino, & Michael (Laura) O'Sullivan as well as her 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Loving her always will be brother Lou Kaufman and in-laws Nick and Nora Humting. To say that Mary Ann will be missed does not begin to convey the sentiments felt by family & friends. We love you mom. Services are Wednesday, November 3 - Visitation 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM with Rosary at 7:00 PM Rice Mortuary, Torrance. Thursday, November 4 - Funeral Mass 10:00 AM St James Catholic Church, Redondo Beach and Graveside burial at 2:00 PM Pacific Crest Cemetery.

  1. I very much regret I cannot share in Mary Ann\’s mass. I will miss her warm smile and generous contributions to many activities in the South Bay Quilters Guild. I am also going to miss her at the Sunbonnet meetings. I will pray that our Lord will bless Michael and the family and guide them through her loss. Betty
