Cooper, Mary Alice, age 96, a 40 year resident of Manhattan Beach and 20 year resident of Oceanside passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2007 at St. John of God Retirement Home in Los Angeles. Born October 18, 1910 in Los Angeles, CA, Alice was a second generation Californian. She graduated from Franklin High School in 1928. She is predeceased by her parents, Mary Deering Cooper and William Cooper, her sister Clare Tucker and her brother William Cooper. Alice, ("Miss C") worked as a legal secretary specializing in probate work in the South Bay area. She worked for the firms of Perry and Bush, Auten Bush, and Hitchcock, Bowman, Mallano, and Poole. She was the president of the Inglewood Legal Secretaries Assoc. in 1955. Alice was a member of the parishes Divine Savior, American Martyrs, St. Margaret Mary, and Mission San Luis Rey. Alice is survived by her nieces and nephews, Glen (Gail) Tucker, Ann (Tony) Jones of Manhattan Beach; Peter (Sienna) Tucker of Hermosa Beach; Sandy (Roger) Kreml of Sodona; Jim (Michel) Cooper of Las Vegas; Tim (Carolyn) Cooper of Portland; and 10 great nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will be held at American Martyrs Catholic Church, Saturday, August 11, 2007 at noon. Interment immediately following at Holy Cross Cemetery, Culver City.
