McCaw, Maruja T. Devoted wife of Martin Andrew McCaw, who preceded her in death 16 years ago; ever-caring mother of 12: Robert, Edgar, John, Susan, Nelson, Philip, Mar-Ann, Alan, Kenneth, Agnes, Jacqueline, and Christine; blessed with 53 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; born Sept. 10, 1927, on the island of Leyte in the Philippines and a resident of Lawndale since 1972, our beloved Mommy peacefully passed in her sleep while vacationing with her children and grandchildren in Palm Desert, CA, on Aug. 11 th, 2007. Maruja devoted her life to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, to her husband of 50 years, and to their loving family. She 'served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hawthorne for over 25 years. Mommy will be greatly missed by all of those she touched with her generous heart and earnest prayers. She will be remembered for her humble spiRt, gracious nature, thoughtfulness, patience, and unwavering faith in God. Her constant wish was that we should LOVE EACH OTHER, FORGIVE EACH OTHER, HELP EACH OTHER, and TAKE CARE OF EACH OTHER. Visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 16th, from 5 - 9 PM with Rosary at 7 PM at the McCormick Mortuary, 1998 S. Pacific Coast Highway, in Redondo Beach. A funeral mass will be held at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 3846 Redondo Beach Blvd, in Torrance at 10:00 AM on Friday, Aug. 17th, with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 5835 W. Slauson Ave., in Culver City.

  1. I met Mar-Ann while working at Crocker Bank either in the 70’s or 80’s. She was very close-knit with her family and spoke highly of them. Though I did not meet any other family members I realized that the McCaw family is what a family should be – close, loving and dedicated. I was not able to make it to the services but did say some prayers for Mrs. McCaw and her family members. May she and Martin rest in God’s graces. Peace to the family. Michael Selwa
