MARTHA LEE BURNUM HANLEY

Lived 50 years in the South Bay; predeceased by her husband John David
Hanley. She is survived by 2 sons, Jon Steven Hanley (Cherie) and Wallace
Gail Hanley (Stacy Ingber) 4 grand children and 4 great-grandchildren.
Martha was born in Brownfield, Texas to Clay and Birdie Burnum in 1924, and
has a brother, Clay Jr. During WW II while living in the Bay Area she met
her husband John. They moved to the South Bay in the early 50's and in 1965
she earned a nursing degree at El Camino College. Martha worked as an
industrial nurse. An interest in genealogy led to her enthusiastic
involvement with the Daughters of the American Revolution. She served the
DAR most notably as Chapter Regent, State Regent, National Organizing
Secretary General and National Vice President General. In addition, she
traveled widely across the United States and around the world. Services will
be held Monday, Oct 20 at 3:00pm, White and Day Mortuary, 901 Torrance Blvd.

We remember a healthy, happy, vivacious and gracious Martha Lee. Always ready and willing to help organize and enjoy family reunions, large and small, and enjoy family as well as family history. We will miss her. Our Love, Roy Lynn and Gayle
