Mikita, Martha Ann a resident of Hermosa Beach, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2006 in Hermosa Beach. Martha was born December 11, 1947, and was 59 years when she died. Martha was a spiritual woman who loved God, and was a member of American Martyrs Catholic Church in Manhattan Beach. Martha received her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from California State University, Los Angeles, and her Masters degree in Business Administration from the Anderson School at UCLA prior to attaining her California CPA certification. Martha was an accomplished business professional who was multi-talented, and in addition to a successful business career, excelled at any endeavor that she undertook, i.e., cooking, gardening, sewing, home decoration, etc. Martha began her professional career with Arthur Young before moving on to MGM studios, where she was Vice President - Corporate Controller. At the time of her death Martha was an Executive Vice President-Chief Financial Officer and a partner in World International Network, Inc., a position she held for more than 16 years. Martha was a voracious reader who loved the beach, and was an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed running, dancing, snow skiing, and entertaining. Martha was also a dog lover who enjoyed music and attending concerts. A big fan of the Rolling Stones, Eagles, and Jackson Browne, Martha was also passionate when it came to sports- her favorite teams included the LA Dodgers, UCLA Bruins, and Philadelphia Eagles. Martha is survived by Husband, John Mikita of Hermosa Beach, CA, Brother and Sister-in-law, Gil & Sheryl Gonzales of Gardnerville, NV, Brother and Sister-in-Law Art & Lisa Gonzales of El Monte, CA, Nephews, Gavin Gonzales of Canoga Park, CA, Travis & Brad Gonzales of Gardnerville, NV and Friend, Debbie Miao of Glendale, CA. Preceded in death by Father, Gilbert A. Gonzales and Mother, Lydia Gonzales. A gathering of family & friends will be held at White & Day Manhattan Beach on Thursday, December 28, 2006 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. The Funeral Mass will be held at American Martyrs Catholic Church on Friday, December 29, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City.
