Marie Marthe Plourde Madore
Began her life as daughter of Fred Plourde and Odelie St. Jean Plourde. She was a sister and friend to Freda, Simon, Lou, Carmen, and Agathe. She married Gerard Arthur Madore September 2, 1950. Not long after they were married Marthe and Gerard traveled to California with her cousin Raymond Parent and his wife Loretta and this is where she made her life and home.
On June 24, 1953 their first child was born; Rita Louretta and their son Don Joe, born July 20, 1959. Marthe loved and cherished her children; Both Don and Rita knew how much she loved them. She enjoyed participating in all of their adventures while growing up.
When it was time for family vacations, Gerry and Marthe would again return to Maine. Many summers were spent with dearly loved family members and friends. Time was spent at the sea shore laughing telling stories and eating lobster and clams.
When Rita married Charles Moore and Don married Linda Masters she welcomed Charles and Linda with open arms and loved them as her own. The grandchildren soon followed. Charles and Rita gave her 3 beautiful granddaughters, Jessica, Kristina, and Kimberly. Don and Linda gave her an inquisitive grandson Jason.
Marthe was blessed with time on earth to receive 6 great grandchildren; Jessica has 3 children Brittan, Emilio, and Ashley. Kimberly has 2 daughters, Haley, and Breanne. Jason has a son Jacob.
Marthe's love for her children, and family was great. When she spoke of them you could see her eyes light up, you could feel the warmth from her heart she so dearly loved them all.
Marthe's love outside of the home was selling at Swap meets and flea markets. She would purchase, find, and, acquire unwanted and discarded items. She could clean and repair almost anything and make them useful again. From old iron skillets, baby strollers, vacuums, glassware and dishes any old item was worth saving.
Our sadness and grieving is not for Marthe, her wonderful journey on earth has ended, and now lives in the house of our Lord. It is for ourselves, we are no longer physically able to feel the warmth of her hugs, and kisses, the sound of her voice and laughter with our ears; our hearts will remember a loved one we hold so dear.
God bless and keep you well in his arms Marie Marthe Plourde Madore.
