Marie Magnuson passed away on February 2, 2004. Born in Ariquipa, Peru on February 22, 1916, she arrived in California in 1920 with her family, and grew up in Los Angeles, before moving to Inglewood, Ca. where she resided for 52 years. She worked as a riveter at Douglas Aircraft during World War II, raised her children, and worked in sales for 31 years. After retiring, she was active in volunteer work, first with the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and then with the Daniel Freeman Thrift Shop until she was 81. She is survived by a daughter, Toni Hale of Santa Monica, Ca., a son, Martin Magnuson of Torrance, four grand children, and two great grandchildren. Memorial Mass will be Saturday, February 7, 2004, 8:00 am at St. Catherine Laboure Church in Torrance.
