Morgan, Maria Michel, a 53 year resident of Redondo Beach, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2010 in Downey. Born in the small town of San Juan De Amula, Jalisco, Mexico, Maria was 76 when she died.
She never had the opportunities that she was able to provide her own children. She went up to the third grade and dropped out of school to help out on the family farm and help in the support of her family. She was proud of this fact and would tell every one who would listen! This is what built her character in becoming a great loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Our mother drew on her life experiences to teach her children about family and always being together. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Maria was always so giving of her self. Family and friends always came first; she had such a great love for children. Never working at a formal job, she was a stay at home mother that would also watch other children through out the neighborhood. This is what was so giving of her.
She had a love for games, be it playing cards, a board game with her children or going out with her friends for a social night out playing Bingo.
Who ever came over to her home was always welcomed, the door was always open and food on the stove for who ever was hungry.
She is survived by Son, Jim Aguilar of Redondo Beach, CA; Son, Ernie (Lourdes) Aguilar of Ensenada, Mexico; Daughter, Irma (George) Bougeokles of Corona, CA; Daughter, Abbey (Brian) Lucas of Cambria, CA; Son, George (Michael) Morgan of San Jose, CA; Son, Michael (Geneinne) Morgan of Torrance, CA; and Son, Roger Morgan of Redondo Beach, CA. Preceded in death by her loving husband Ben Morgan, and parents Apolonio and Maria Michel.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at McCormick Redondo Beach Chapel on Monday, January 11, 2010 from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. The service will follow in the Mortuary Chapel at 3:00 P.M. Burial will follow at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside on Tuesday, January 12 at 12:45 PM, Staging Area #4. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Diabetic Association
in the loving memory of Maria Morgan.
