Maria Bestor

maria bestor
Maria and the Geist family emigrated from Germany to New York in 1952. By 1955, Maria made her way out to California. In 1962, Maria married Bill Bestor and eight years later her conjugal family was complete with a son and daughter. While her children attended St. Anthony School, Maria wanted to be home for her family so she took a part time job as a lunch time yard-lady at St. Anthonys. This allowed her to take her children to their after school activities as well as spend time as a family when her husband returned from work. Once her children graduated high school, Maria held a variety of part time jobs where her professionalism and quality of work always made her a favorite with her employers. By 2001, Maria had two grandchildren and the loving devotion she provided as a wife and mother was additionally provided as a grandmother. Never to take a part time job again, Maria was always available for her grandchildren. Throughout her life, Maria enjoyed sport and friendly competition in the form of bowling leagues and tournaments. And when her bowling activity subsided she found enjoyment in casino slots and bingo. Maria is survived by her husband, son, daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren.
