A life long resident of the South Bay, Marie passed away peacefully on Friday, March 9, 2018. She was born in Los Angeles on December 12, 1936, the youngest daughter of John Alimentario and Emma (Luzzi) Alimentario. Marie grew up in Los Angeles with her sister Virginia (Alimentatio) Fucci. She met the love of her life, John, on a blind date, and remained a devoted wife for nearly 49 years, until John’s passing in 2006. Marie spent leisure time with quilting projects, craft fairs and the discovery of new fabric stores. An avid baker, she often made cookies or treats for family, friends and neighbors. She sought new recipes and gladly shared the result of many experiments. Marie loved to spend time with her grand children and great grandson. She shared her blissful sense of humor and love of vintage Western movies. Marie’s story is not complete without note of her affection for animals, as she lovingly cared for her own pets and maintained a refuge for any displaced neighborhood cat on her front porch. A woman of Faith, Marie is survived by daughter Linda and her husband Eric Abbiss; son David and his wife Christine; grandchildren Elizabeth Mathieu and husband Scott, Shannon Badenoch, Casey Arthur Badenoch and great-grandson Cody Michael Mathieu, her sister Virginia, and many nieces; nephews; and cousins. Marie will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to or Services to be held at St. Andrew's Presbyterian, Redondo Beach on Friday, March 23 at 11:00 am.
