Marguerite Cecilia Montijo was born in San Pedro, July 22, 1972, the only child of Dolores Montijo. She went home to the Lord on May 1, 2017 after a prolonged hospital stay in Long Beach, due to overwhelming complications from diabetes. Marguerite was a lifelong resident of the South Bay and also lived briefly in Long Beach. She is survived by husband Sonny Stevens (married for 14 years); four children Chloe Montijo, Bryanna Montijo, Annie Stevens and Christopher Stevens; siblings Donald J. Sooga, Diane Taylor Sooga, Katina Sooga of San Pedro, Zephaniah Sooga, Abraham Sooga, Donald M. Sooga, Heaven Sooga and Nazarene Sooga and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. Marguerite was a passionate, spirited soul and took great love and pride in her family. Her talents included crocheting, arts and crafts, homemaking and cooking. She loved the beach, softball, spectator sports and Hawaiian dancing. She was baptized at Harbor Christian Center in Wilmington, and loved Jesus. Marguerite attended Eshelman Elementary, Dodson Junior High and Narbonne High School. Services will be held Wednesday, May 10th at Cottonwood Church, Sausalito Campus, 3311 Sausalito Street, Los Alamitos. The services are at 10am, all are welcome.
