  1. My name is Mary Temple (former name: Mary Nesthus). First, let me say I am deeply saddened by the loss of your mother Eileen. I know she will be greatly missed by your family and friends. I only met her a couple of times, but found her to be very friendly and a lovely lady. I’m sure you remember your friend Cheryl Ann Nesthus who lived on the next street over from you. I am Cheryl’s mother. Cheryl, Brad and I lived at 22630 Evalyn Avenue from 1968 to 1973. I remember that you and your family lived on Kathryn Avenue (I don’t remember the address.) I remember all the fun times you and my Cheryl had together. Do you remember when we ran into you on the Strand in Hermosa Beach? Cheryl and I were skating, and I think you were riding a bike. Cheryl hadn’t seen you for such a long time, but she recognized you immediately. In closing, I hope that all your wonderful memories of your mother remain with you and that they bring you comfort. Love, Mary (Nesthus) Temple

  2. To all the McEvillys–Mary Ellen and I have considered ourselves fortunate to get to know several of you. We know enough about families to know that a family such as yours–vibrant, charming, successful, honest–gets that way because, more than anything else, the devoutly Irish matron of the household keeps it all together. I enjoyed knowing your lovely mother, and I thank you for giving me the chance to keep her in my memory and my prayers…..Jim Hallett

  3. Dear Eileen and Family, I am so sorry to learn of your loss, and my thoughts are with you. It is impossible for me to be with you on Thursday, but I will be thinking of you all. Warmly, Steve Hillman

  4. We miss you so incredibly much, every moment of every day. Our hearts are broken without you. You were always so strong, so brave, so kind, so giving. The world feels empty without you. We always thought you were so strong that we could not even imagine the world without you in it. We thought that you would beat the terrible illness and be ok again. We will miss you and love every day of our lives.
