Buchanan, Margaret Mary a 40 year resident of Santa Monica passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2003 in Torrance. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan August 23, 1915, Margaret was 87. She had been a pianist working with the Los Angeles City Recreation and Parks Department for over 25 years. Margaret had been a longtime parishoner at St. Monica's in Santa Monica. She is survived by her daughter Mary Dillon of Manhattan Beach; son David Buchanan of San Francisco; daughter Julie Buchanan of West Los Angeles; and son Donald Buchanan of Burbank; along with nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Memorial Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, March 26 at 10:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church, 415 Vincent Street in Redondo Beach. Private burial will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City.
We were so sorry to hear of your mom\’s death. You guys were the first kids that I babysat for. My mom couldn\’t see how Margaret could let a young kid like me take care of you. Looks like we all survived. Mom remembers the nice visits she and dad had in California with your folks. Dad died 3 years ago. Please know you are all in our thoughts and prayers. Lynette
