  1. Dear Gilman Family, It was indeed with sadness I learned of Mrs. Gilman’s passing. Although I only had the pleasure of meeting her a few short years ago, she left an indelible impression with me. I immediately realized what a delightful and charming person she is. I even learned she had attended Fairfax High School, the same high school my father attended, albeit a few years later. I wish I had known her for a lifetime. I could have learned so much from her, both intellectually and how to live life to its fullest. She was such a lady; so kind, so gentle and ever so interesting! I will miss her quick wit, sense of humor and so much more. She is an exemplary person, role model and human being. Even recently, she kept up-to-date on current and political events, especially the 2008 Presidential election. I would never wish to debate her. I don’t like to lose. You were fortunate to have her in your lives well into her eighty-fourth year. She spoke often and loved all of you dearly. My thoughts are with you at this time. Bob Norris
