Cazemier, Margaret, a 50 year resident of Palos Verdes, California, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2009 in Oregon. Born in Hinsdale, Illinois, Margaret was 87 when she died. Margaret was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Palos Verdes and Antioch Church in Bend, Oregon Marge had a Masters Degree in education. She was a teacher in Illinois, Sitka Alaska, Palos Verdes, California, and one year in a Department of Defense School in Japan after World War II. Marge loved teaching third graders and said she had wonderful students! She began her teaching career teaching Junior High and worked her way down to third graders where she found her perfect fit. She taught till age 72. Marge's favorite day was Sunday, a time to worship and praise our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She really enjoyed singing the old hymns from memory and listening to the Word preached. Marge attended Ascension Lutheran Church in Palos Verdes, California until February 2008 and Antioch Church in Bend, Oregon till her death. Marge is a strong supporter of the American Bible Society, World Vision, Alliance Defense Fund, Mission Aviation Fellowship, American Center for Law and Justice, Prison Fellowship Ministries, Focus on the Family and Insight for Living. Marge loved gardening, taking long walks, free snacks at Bristol Farms and picking up a free newspaper at the Palos Verdes library. Marge had a passion for the children she taught, traveling, her apartments in Palos Verdes, overlooking Redondo Beach, and most of all for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Marge enjoyed Christian talk radio, and support groups such as Insight for Living, Focus on the Family Dr. James Kennedy and the news too! Margaret is survived by 89 year old sister, Jeanette (Jean) C. Hunter a long time resident of southern California, who now resides in Haven, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Wilhelmina Cazemier, and siblings Ann Rios, Billy Cazemier, Peter H Cazemier, and John Cazemier. A gathering of family & friends will be held at Pacific Crest Chapel in Redondo Beach on Tuesday April 14, 2009 from noon to 2 PM. The Graveside Service will be held at Pacific Crest Cemetery in Redondo Beach at 2:30 PM, followed by a Reception at the Rice Mortuary Lighthouse Room in Torrance. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Bend 2075 NW Wyatt Court Bend, Oregon 97701.
