Marcus H Espinosa was born in Torrance, California on December 5th, 1924 and passed away peacefully on September 1st 2009. He resided in Redondo Beach with his mother Ruth, 3 brothers; Amador, Gilbert, and Paul and graduated from Redondo Union High School. Marcus served in the Army Air Corp as a Staff Sergeant in the 860th Bombardment Squadron and 493rd Bombardment Group. He courageously fought 25 missions as a Ball Turret Gunner in a B-17 Flying Fortress in WWII. Marcus retired from North American Rockwell after dedicating 43 loyal years. Among his most important accomplishments was working on the development of the Space Shuttle. He is survived by his beautiful and loving wife Rosario Espinosa of 63 years; daughters Rosario (Robert) Flores, Ruth (George) Hespe; brother Amador Espinosa, his 7 grandchildren; Deniese (Jeff) Jaskulsky, Heidi (Billy) Thorton, Denielle (Ashur) Agena, Heather (Chris) Day, Darlene (Chris) Castillon, John McBee, Rob(Genevieve) Flores and 19 great grandchildren, with baby number 20 on the way. Marcus was a loving husband, father, Tata and great grandfather. He will be greatly missed and will be in our hearts forever. A funeral mass and burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday September 5th at Holy Cross Cemetery. 5835 W.
