  1. My dear Yolanda, I remember your dad, Manuel very well when I met him in a lobby of a hotel waiting for a common celebration together with our families. We didn’t know each other and yet, being a true hospitable Filipino, he immediately offered me a drink and even before you could introduce and present us to each other, we were already enjoying each other’s company and have become friends. Not for the drink for sure but for the deep and rich conversation we had together. His questions were never superficial but meaningful to the point that I felt I had to share with him something more substantial of myself. We ended up sharing to each other our own personal experiences on certain issues of life, which both of us were really thankful as we both felt enriched by each other’s experiences. I was impressed by his humility and though he had just lost his dear wife at that time, he never weighed his sufferings and pain to anyone. We’ll be celebrating masses for him in Ireland. We’ll be praying for him and to him as he now holds a highly reccommended place in heaven. Give my love to George and to Matthew,

  2. Yolanda – What a beautiful tribute to your father. All my condolences to you and your family. May God grant eternal rest to your father and have mercy on his soul. Love, Rosalie Schultz

  3. Manuel always had a smiling face and great disposition. As my mother’s townmate from Lezo, he was like her little brother. May our thoughts and prayers be with you in your time of sadness. Rejoice for he is with my father now too, 40 years later. Requisecat in Pace!

  4. Yolanda, Letti, Bruce and Inday Nellie: Manny was an energetic person with always a happy disposition, as I recall my days at your home during many of my summers during my youth and early adulthood. He was always genuine in his interest of my life and loves. Every time I think of our times together it always brings a big smile to my face. While I have lost contact directly with him in the past 10 years, his memory will always be an uplifting event and filled with the warmth of his shinning personally. I will miss him dearly. My condolences to all of you. Love , Noneng
