Mabel L. Alexander passed away on Sept. 16, 2009 due to a heart attack. She was born on August 29, 1922 in Geyser, Montana. Her family relocated to Minnesota soon thereafter, and she and her eight siblings were raised in Esko, MN, a town named after their paternal grandfather. She moved to San Francisco right before World War II, where she met and married her husband, John. Many years later, after the birth of their daughter, Susie, they moved to Redondo Beach, where she lived for over 50 years. She was a long-term member of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Redondo Beach. Mabel was the registrar/recorder at Redondo Union High School for over 25 years, and was named employee of the year in 1986, just before her retirement. She enjoyed the fact that she was always running into RUHS graduates of all ages in her daily activities. Mabel was a wonderful, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and her two grandsons were the light of her life. She is survived by her daughter Susie (Bill) Lippert and grandsons MIchael and Ryan, all of Redondo Beach, sister, Alice Toone of Carlton, MN, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends. The special joy she brought to all of us will remain in our hearts forever. Her seven other siblings and her loving husband predeceased her. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Friday, September 25, 2009 at Rice Mortuary, preceded by a viewing at 1:00 pm.
