  1. Last month I was in California and had the opportunity to hear Luigi (Johnny) sing. My father, Kermit Welch, was preforming with his group in an old theater and Johnny sang two songs with the group that night. To say it was wonderful would be too much of an understatement. When the show was over I sat and talked with Johnny and told him that he had such a young and beautiful voice and how much I’d enjoyed the songs he sang. We had such a nice chat and I will treasure those few minutes I had sitting and speaking with him. What a wonderful man. I am so sorry he his gone.
