lourdespecson
Lourdes Samia Pecson passed away peacefully on Monday, October 21, 2013 after a short but hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer. She loved the company of family and friends, and many were by her side on the day she saw God. She was diagnosed with diabetes in May and then with Stage 4 cancer on October 12. If ever she had tremendous pain, she never let on. She remained focused on God's love and power, which gave her the strength to keep living. Lourdes, 61, was born on May 17, 1952 in Mabalacat, Pampanga and lived a short but meaningful and beautiful life. She is survived by her husband Enrique and three children, Lorena, Enrique Jr., and Aaron. She is also survived by her siblings Victoria Samia Agustin, Arcadio Dizon Samia Jr., Arturo Dizon Samia, and Jaime Dizon Samia. She is preceded in death by father, Arcadio Lumanlan Samia, mother, Ressurreccion Sanchez Dizon Samia, and brother, Luisito Dizon Samia. Lourdes graduated with a commerce degree at Holy Angel College in Angeles, Manila. She held numerous jobs in her lifetime. Her latest position was as accounting manager at 1-Day Paint and Body where she worked for 19 years. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, playing cards with friends, and good times in Las Vegas casinos. She cherished every moment spent with her six grandchildren, Benjamin, Thomas, Troy, Richard, Robert, and Julia. And she loved the long morning and evening conversations with her husband. Lourdes was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. We will miss her so very much! Viewing will be on October 31st from 3 to 9pm and on November 1st from 1 to 10pm at Rice Mortuary in Torrance. The funeral mass will be held at St. John Fisher Catholic Church in Rancho Palos Verdes on November 2 at 10am. Interment will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes. The reception will be at Grand China Buffet in Torrance.

  1. Mrs. Pecson had such a beautiful and gentle spirit about her. I was just getting to know her at various events that we attended. I will miss her very much. I wish to convey to her family my deepest sympathy. To Mr. Pecson, My heart goes out to you in this most difficult time. To Aaron, I am there for you if you need me. So very sorry! To Lorena, Randy, Benjamin, Thomas, Richard, and Robert, I am blessed to be connected to your family. Lourdes Pecson, your beautiful mother and grandmother, was so very proud of all of you. Her influence on all of you and your positive character will stay with you forever. May she rest in peace!

  2. We are holding you close in our thoughts & hoping you will find some comfort in knowing we care about you and your family. Wish there some ways we could help to ease your pain & sorrow

  3. Thinking of your family with deepest sympathy and hoping it provides you with comfort to know that we share in your sorrow. May Lou rest in eternal peace.

  4. I am thinking of you all today. Her spirit lives in each of you, and I know that she is proud of each one of you. Her love will always be there in everything you do. There is no greater gift or achievement in knowing that one has raised a strong, loving family. This is her legacy. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

    God Bless Deborah Evers Allen
