Louis Bartels DesBordes Born June 30th 1967 in Accra Ghana Came to the US in 1984 with his brother Charles and received an AA from El Camino College. Long time resident of Long Beach worked at Valero Industries for over 15 years. Louis loved riding his bike, playing the drums and hanging out with family and friends. Louis leaves behind his mother Susan, Brothers William, Herman and Charles and Sisters Yvonne, Rowena, Priscilla, Charlotte, Sybil and Ursula. He will be greatly missed by his 11 year old son Kobina (Patty) Charles (Kendra), Caitlyn, C.J., and Lauren. The Abraham family, Dad, Mom, Jill, Lisa, Charlie, Dana, (Ernie), Cris, Ricky, Lucy and many more family, friends and co-workers. Will be laid to rest back home in Ghana. We will miss you. A gathering of family & friends will be Friday, November 10, 2006, starting at 11:00 A.M. with The Service at 1:00 P.M. both at Rice Mortuary in Torrance, CA. Reception will follow the service at Rice's Lighthouse Reception Room from 2:00 P.M. to 4:30 P.M. Interment will be in Osu Cemetery in Accra, Ghana.

  1. Louis was at out house just last week he and my two children Ricky and Lucy went to the park to fly a kite, with a very light wind He ran around the whole park to try and get the kite up he was so determined to fly this kite that he put together We laughed so hard I fell on the ground. Louis will always be remembered by my family and will be missed very much.

  2. Baby Kofi, Caleb and I will miss you dearly. Louis my love, Rest in Peace and know that your memory lives on. Caleb and Kobi shall remain friends and brothers. Thanks for being part of our lives.
