Bowers, Lillian Geneva, a 67 year resident of South Bay, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 in Torrance. Lillian Reddin was born in Hampton, Arkansas she was 97 when she died.
Lillian was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Redondo Beach, CA.
Lillian was raised on a farm in Hampton, AR. by her Father, Mother, and with her four Brothers and three Sisters.
Lillian moved to Los Angeles CA. with her sister Mercille from Hampton AR. in July 1947 due to lack of work and a better climate after the war ended in 1945.
Lillian met her husband Richard Bowers in Los Angeles.
Lillian worked at Bekins Moving and Storage Company before finding employment opportunity at Northrop Grumman Corporation where she worked until she retired.
Lillian was a loving and caring Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend
Lillian loved to camping, fishing and traveling,
Lillian enjoyed walking, gardening and growing her vegetables and finding shopping bargains.
Lillian is survived by: daughter; Valerie Faith Day, Lake Havasu, AZ., son; Douglas William Bowers, Redondo Beach CA., grandson; Andrew Colton Bowers, Seattle WA., granddaughter Karissa Renee Bowers, San Diego CA. and her remaining sibling, Mercille Wells, Thousand Oaks CA.
-Services will be held at Rice Mortuary 07/26/2014, 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM
- Rice Mortuary Lighthouse Reception Room 07/26/2014 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM
Private Burial will be at Los Angeles National Cemetery in Los Angeles.
