LeRoy Alexander Hill was born in Los Angeles, California on June 25, 1954 to Robert Lee and Virginia Ruth Hill. Roy accepted Christ at any early age and joined Hamilton Methodist Church in 1966. During his youth, Roy enjoyed playing softball alongside his brother Glenn and under the guidance of his Dad who coached the team. Roy attended Morningside High School in Inglewood and was a member of the marching band. Roy had a love of music and played the drums. He also over the years compiled a collection of albums, “45’s” and CD’s from a variety of artists. While growing up Roy always wanted to have change in his pocket so he had a paper route, and he collected golf balls that were hit over the fence at the local golf course and then would sell them back to their owner’s for a quarter. Roy bonded with his Dad over their love of tinkering with cars. They also did projects and repairs around the house. After graduating from high school, Roy found his passion with his culinary skills and started a career as a chef. Roy had two long-term jobs approximately 20 years each first with, Host International at LAX and then at Hollywood Park Casino. Roy enjoyed planning the menus for the family gatherings and was always the one “In Charge” in the kitchen, he made sure that it was done his way or he would definitely let you hear about it! Even when he was not available to attend the family gatherings, he made sure that we could count on his special dish “Mac N’ Cheese”! Roy’s father, Robert Lee Hill preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memory his Mother Virginia Hill, Son’s Anthony, Kevin and Matthew, his Grandchildren, Grant, Camille, Madeline, and Armani, Brother Robert Glenn, Sister’s Denise and Cheryl, Brother-in-law Eric, Sister-in-law Yolanda, nieces, nephew, and a host of extended family and friends.
