Becker, Leon C. "Lee" Lee passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at the age of 65 after a long battle with emphysema. Born on May 15, 1943 in Rochester, NY, he was a resident of the South Bay for more than thirty years. He is survived by his wife, Vicki, of Redondo Beach, sister Cathy, and brothers Dick (Elaine) and Brian (Marta), all of Rochester, NY. He was preceded in death by his father, Leon, his mother, Jean, and his daughter, Brandy. Lee owned his own machine shop and had a lifelong career as a tool and die maker. After retiring, he became a boat broker and owner of Blue Pacific Yachts in Redondo Beach. An avid golfer in his early years, he will be remembered for his sense of humor, and love of boating. Often sighted on his scooter, Lee enjoyed visiting friends, shopping and fishing on the pier during his expeditions around town. He also traveled throughout the U.S. and enjoyed many cruises. A celebration of his life will take place at noon on Tuesday, June 24 at the King Harbor Yacht Club with a reception to follow. Casual attire is requested. His ashes will be scattered at sea. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association. Please check back to view the Video Tribute.

Memories Timeline

  1. We were privileged to know him and have him as part of our extended family. He always had a positive attitude and a sense of humor.

  2. Dearest Vicki, I am sad for your loss of a playmate and companion! I will pray for your comfort. Stay in touch. Much love, Cindy

  3. Uncle Lee and I may not have spoken often or seen each other as much as we would have liked – but Uncle Lee and I were kindred spirits. We “got” each other…whether we agreed with each other or not. I loved him very much. Sandy

  4. We loved Uncle Lee for his sense of humor and his love of life. Although he has only visited a few times over the last several years, we enjoyed the times we were able to spend with him and we are glad our kids could spend time with him. They always had fun with him. Vickie, we are glad that he had you because you made him so happy. He lived life to the fullest and that is how we will remember him. Mark and Annmarie
