Leland
Chapman, Leland E. a long time resident of the South Bay, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2007 at home in Torrance. Born in Phillipsburg, MO., Leland was 83 when he died. Leland had served in the Army during World War II and retired from McDonnell Douglas after over 35 years of service. He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Kathryn and is survived by his wife, Patricia; Son, Terry, daughter, Linda Dandy , Step sons, Gary Simpson, Mark Simpson , Paul Simpson ; Step daughters, Dana Wieten, Erin Smiley, and Carrie Davis. Also survived by 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and a brother Dennis Chapman. A gathering of family & friends will be Thursday, February 1, 2007 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the White & Day Colonial Mortuary in Redondo Beach. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday, February 2, 2007 at the Pacific Crest Cemetery Chapel in Redondo Beach. Entombment will follow at the cemetery.

  2. Babe & I enjoyed visiting with Lee in Ohio and Ca. and heard many interesting stories from him. He was a pleasure to be around.We also remember the Amish resturants that we went to with he and Patti in Ohio. Very long rides!!

  6. Dearest Pat, Lee was a very special, honorable, and kind man. He always told me how very much he loved you and spoke so kindly of you. Even though Paul and I are no longer married I still love all of you and I loved Lee very much. He was very close to Amanda and she has many memories of her Grandpa Lee.
