Lee Ann Berrier, an 18 year resident of the South Bay, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2012 in Redondo Beach. Born in Riverside, CA on April 13, 1963 and raised in Rialto, Lee Ann was 48 when she died after a 3 year battle with breast cancer. She was a lifelong California resident who left the state briefly when her husband's military assignment took them to Akron, OH. Lee Ann was a member of the Surfrider Foundation. In addition to being a loving wife and mother, at various times in her life Lee Ann was an data entry technician, emergency room admitting clerk, travel agent, school crossing guard, nanny, and retail clerk at a scrapbooking store. She actively supported the local schools at all levels. Lee Ann was an avid and talented crafter. As a seamstress she sewed clothes for her girls and items for her and her family's homes. While in Ohio she learned basket weaving, becoming skilled enough to sell her baskets at a local crafts store. Her passion however, was scrapbooking. A self taught photographer, she took pride in her skill with a camera. She then applied her talent with crafts to create beautiful and elaborate layouts which were combined into albums. She was even commissioned to create albums for others on several occasions. Lee Ann was an only child. She is survived by her husband of 22 years, William F. Berrier, Jr. of Redondo Beach, CA; daughters Caitlyn and Courtney of Redondo Beach; parents David and Mary Cook of Rialto, CA; and numerous other friends and relatives. The Memorial Service will be held at White & Day Colonial Mortuary in Redondo Beach on Wednesday February 29, 2012 at 1pm, followed by a reception in the Colonial Lighthouse Room until 4pm. Burial will be private at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Susan G Komen for the Cure.
