After teaching us her infinite wisdom for decades, Lauretta M Carter died at home the morning of March 5, 2013. Lauretta spent many happy years in Colorado, and then returned to the city of her birth in 1959. She was a native Angelino and could easily find any downtown address. Lauretta enjoyed old city landmarks and was the best wife and mother the city ever saw. She was ahead of her time in many ways, supporting feminism, insisting on good nutrition, and recognizing Mother God. Living family includes Patricia and Dennis Burke, Alice Carter, Nancy Delaney, Thomas and Teresa Carter, Elizabeth Carter and Krister Berg, Vincent Carter, Margaret Carter and Steven Schwartz, and John Carter. Already in heaven are Patrick, Mary Ellen, Walter, Donna and Timothy Carter. Fortunate grandchildren are Dennis, Katie, Julianna, and Vincent Burke, Patrick and Roberta Oliver, Erin, Mary Ellen, and Catherine Carter, Emily and Patrick Carter, Trevor, Ryan, and Jared Carter, Elizabeth and Marilyn Schwartz, and Meghan, Caitlin, and Evann Carter. We are all blessed with Lauretta's nine great grandchildren. We will have a mass for the celebration of Lauretta's life at St. James Catholic Church in Redondo Beach at 2:30 pm on Saturday, March 9, 2013.
