Lalo C. Dominguez passed on May 9, 2011 in Redondo Beach, CA. He was born May 9, 1952 in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico to Eulalio and Maria C. Dominguez. His family immigrated to Redondo Beach, CA (USA) on July 25, 1955. Lalo attended Jefferson Elementary, then transferred to Fulton Elementary school in Redondo Beach, CA. He went on to attend Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish School (where he and his family have been long time parishioners) in Hermosa Beach and Redondo Union High School. In his adult life, he worked as Manager for McMahon’s furniture store in the city of Wilmington, CA for 24 years, followed by a 14-year career at the Redondo Unified School District as an aide in Special Education. In August, 2008, Lalo founded the Veronica’s Legacy Foundation (VLF), an organization dedicated to assisting the homeless in the Southern Los Angeles area, in memory of his niece, Veronica Enriquez, who preceded him in death. He was well known for his love of reading, creative writing, documentary films, and dining out and going to the movies with his family. Lalo is survived by his beloved wife Lilian; his five children, Tony Dominguez, Adrian Dominguez, Mario Lopez, Nathalie Lopez and Lalo Dominguez; and his five grandchildren, Nico, Summer, Autumn-Rose, Daniel and Isaiah Dominguez. He is also survived by his five siblings, Angela Dominguez, Consuelo Huante, Maria G. Enriquez, Jesus Dominguez and Hilda Chavez. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. A vigil and rosary will be held at Rice Mortuary in Torrance, CA at 7:00pm on Tuesday, May 17th, 2011. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, May 18th, 2011 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Hermosa Beach, CA, followed by a Burial service at Pacific Crest Cemetery in Redondo Beach, CA.
