It is with great sadness that the family of Kyle Kakichi Akers Uemura, 34, of Torrance, California announces that Kyle passed away on Nov 26, 2022, peacefully in his sleep at his beloved home.

Kyle was born to Kazuhide and Bambi Uemura on Aug 17, 1988 in Long Beach, California. Kyle graduated from West Torrance High School and continued his education at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.  He also received his certification in Phlebotomy from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

Kyle worked in the restaurant industry for many years and was promoted to General Manager at Sushi Boy and Marugame.  He was a dedicated, hard worker and a friend to everyone he worked with.

Kyle enjoyed cooking, photography, food, music and playing jokes on his friends and family.  He was loyal, loving, goofy and kind.  He was passionate about his family, friends and helping others.

In 2016, Kyle met the love of his life, Rany JD Uemura.  They were fiercely in love and got married in Nov 2017.

Kyle was a fighter who faced many medical challenges in life which he strived to overcome.  Kyle always wished to have a family of his own, unfortunately his life was cut short.  Kyle was a loving uncle who was adored by his nephews.

Kyle is survived by his husband Rany JD Uemura, his grandmother Betty Fumiko Akers, his parents Kazuhide and Bambi, his siblings Charmaine, Tawny (Katie R.), Alison (Trent), and his nephews Tyler, Ryder, Charles, Tyson and his two beloved dogs Doggy and Buster.

There will be a memorial service in Kyle’s honor at 10:00 am on December 18, 2022 at Lighthouse Memorial & Receptions- Rice Center located at 5310 Torrance Blvd, Torrance CA, 90503.  If you wish to attend by Zoom follow the link on the page.

    We are so saddened for the passing of Kyle. He had a very kind and gentle soul and loved by everyone who knew him.
